parwal (Pointed gourd) ki pakoda or bhajiya recipe

Parwal pakoda or bhajiya

Ingredients :

  • 2-3 parwal (pointed gourd)
  • 2 tbsp rice flour 
  • 3 tbsp wheat flour(gehun ka atta) or maida
  • salt to taste
  • 1/4 tsp turmeric powder 
  • 1/2 tsp red chilli powder 
  • 1 pinch of asafoetida (Hing)
  • Oil for deep frying 
Method :
Peeled and wash parwal and cut into thin slices of lengthwise. In a large bowl, add wheat four or maida, rice flour, salt, turmeric, red chilli powder, Hing and add little of water and mix well and make a batter. Batter shouldn't be too thin not too thick. Now, heat oil in a pan and dip the parwal slice and in the batter. Fry till the pakoda turn into golden brown color and drain the excess oil. Serve hot with any sauce and chutney.
