Crispy Mathri ( namkin) recipe

Mathri 


Ingredients :

  • 1 cup all purpose flour (maida)
  • 1 tbsp semolina (rava, sooji)
  • 4 tbsp oil
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp carom seeds (ajwain)
  • water to knead dough 
  • Oil for deep frying 
Method :
In a large bowl, add flour, semolina, salt, 4 tbsp oil, carom seeds and mix well. Now add water and make a dough. The dough should not be soft but a little hard. Now divide the dough into small equal  portions and make balls from the dough. Now roll out each portion of the dough into a small puris. Now  prick them equally all over with a fork or wooden stick. Now heat oil in a  frying pan and deep fry on a low to medium flame till they turn golden brown color and crisp. Now drain on a plate. Serve with chutney and munch on them during tea-time.
