Eating poha regularly can prevent iron deficiency or anemia. Today I made poha tikki. Ingredients include poha (beaten rice), boil potato and some Indian spices. It is a tasty and healthy breakfast or snacks.

Ingredients :

  • 2 cups Beaten rice (poha)
  • 2 boiled potatoes (peeled and mashed )

  • 2 green chillies chopped
  • 1/2 tsp red chilli powder
  • 1/2 tsp garam masala
  • 2 tbsp lemon juice
  • salt to taste

Method :
Wash poha and keep aside for 5-10 minutes. In a large bowl, add soaked poha, mashed potatoes, all spices, salt, chopped onion, chillies and mix well with hand. Now make medium balls and  flatten them or give a heart shape to the patties. Now heat a tava grease it using 1 tbsp of oil and 5-6 or more using 1 tsp of oil till they turn brown in color from both sides. Serve hot with tomato sauce.
