Ghiya, lauki (Bottle gourd) ka raita

Bottle gourd raita 

Ingredients :

  • 1 bowl chilled curd (Dahi) 
  • 1/2 cup grated bottle gourd
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper powder
  • black salt to taste
  • 1/2 tsp roasted cumin powder 
  • 1 green chilli finely chopped 
  • 1 tbsp pomegranate seeds OR
  •  chopped coriander leaves for garnish
For tempering : 
  • 1 tsp oil 
  • 1/2 tsp mustard seeds
  • 1 pinch asafoetida (Hing)
  • 5-7 curry leaves 
Method : 
In a pan take grated bottle gourd and boil for 2 minutes. Now turn off the flame and drain of all water and keep aside to cool. Now in a large bowl beat the curd till it turns smooth. Now, add boil bottle gourd, black salt, cumin powder, black pepper, chilli and mix well. Now for the tempering, heat oil, add mustard seeds, asafoetida, curry leaves and crackle, add in raita. Now garnish with pomegranate seeds or coriander leaves. Serve with paratha and lunch time.
