Fresh Methi thepla( fresh fenugreek leaves paratha) recipe


Methi thepla or paratha is a Gujarati dish. Fenugreek leaves makes very tasty dishes. I make methi saag, methi pakoda and thepla. Fenugreek is good and beneficial for diabetic patients. I love methi leaves for the slight bitterness they add to any vegetables and make tasty dish.

Ingredients:
  • 2 cups wheat flour (gehun ka atta) 
  • 1 cup fresh Fenugreek leaves (clean and finely chopped)
  • 1 tbsp oil 
  • 1 finely chopped onion 
  • 1/4 tsp turmeric powder
  • 1/4 tsp red chilly powder
  • 1 tsp sambhar masala
  • salt to taste
  • water as needed 
  • oil for shallow fry
Method :
In a large bowl, add wheat flour, salt, turmeric, red chilly powder, sambhar masala, 1 tbsp oil, chopped fenugreek leaves, onion and mix well with hand. Now add water to make a soft dough. Now divide into 3-5-6 equal sized balls. Now take a ball, dip into flour and roll like a roti. Now add 1 tsp oil and shallow fry on a tava until both sides are golden brown color. Serve hot or cool with curd, chutney, pickles.
