Falafel (Indian style recipe) recipe

Fried Falafel 


Today I made chickpeas falafel. Me and my family loves falafel. Its a very popular recipe.
Falafel are healthy, full of protein and fiber. It depend on your choice, if you want bake or deep fry
falafel. Because I made fried and baked falafel. You can certainly use the deep fryer for this falafel recipe but baked falafel is very healthy. It isn't necessary to add a lot of ingredients to make falafel.  Oh my daughter is very crazy for falafel. She asked me 'mommy every weekend make falafel'. Actually, falafel is a very tasty recipe. A big deterrent to some people with falafel is the fact that most recipe called for dried chickpeas, soaking, boiling and mashing. This recipe is very easy but tasty. Falafel is a perfect breakfast and snacks. Fried falafel is healthy but not called very healthy and baked falafel is very healthy. Its best for your kids and husband tiffin box.

Note : Lemon juice and coriander leaves is compulsory for made tasty falafel.

Ingredients :

  • 1 cup chickpeas, soaked 7-8 hrs and boil
  • 1 tbsp cornflour 
  • salt to taste 
  • 2 green chilies finely chopped
  • 1 small onion finely chopped
  • 1/2 tsp red chilli powder 
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper powder
  • 1/4 tsp garam masala powder 
  • 1/4 tsp turmeric powder 
  • 1 tsp roasted cumin powder 
  • 2 tbsp fresh coriander leaves finely chopped
  • 1 tbsp garlic-ginger paste 
  • 1/2 lemon juice 
  • Oil for deep fry
Method :
In a large bowl mash until thick and pasty, don't used the blender, do used hand masher. Now add combine all ingredients and mix well with hand. Now make medium balls and then flatten into patties. Now heat oil in a pan and fry or bake till they golden brown in color and remove the fried falafel. Serve with any sauce or used in falafel bread sandwiches or used in falafel pita bread sandwiches.
