Amla (Indian gooseberry) candy easy recipe

Amla (Indian gooseberry) candy 


Ingredients :

  • 1 kg. Amla (Indian gooseberry)
  •  4 cups sugar 
  • 2 cups water
  • 1/2 cup glucose powder 
Method :
Wash and dry gooseberry with a cotton cloth. Now in a pan, add water, sugar and boil for 10 minutes. Now in sugar syrup, add Amla (Indian gooseberry) and again boil for 10-12 minutes and remove from the heat and keep aside to cool. Now drain of all sugar syrup and cut the gooseberry in slices and remove the seeds. Now keep in the sunlight for 2-3 days to dry the sugar syrup. After dried add glucose powder and mix well and its ready to eat. Now you can keep it in a dry and clean glass jar for long time.

  1. Hello thanks for the recipe, is it inevitable to dry in sunn. Can it be air dried or fan dried in shade?? Thanks for your reply

  2. Yes, you can dry it in air, but sun light would be best to keep it for long time.

  4. You can use jaggery or honey, But your Amla candy will don't dry.
