Urad dal fry recipe

Ingredients :
  • 1 cup split black urad dal (dhooli urad dal)
  • 1/2 tsp turmeric powder
  • 1 chopped tomato
  • salt to taste
  • 3 bowls water
For tempering ingredients, 
  • 1/2 tsp cumin seeds
  • 1 tbsp oil
  • 2 chopped green chillies 
  • 4 chopped garlic cloves 
  • 1/2 tsp chopped ginger 
  •  8-10 curry leaves 
Method : 
Clean and wash the Urad dal. In a pressure cooker, add dal, water, salt, turmeric powder, chopped tomato and cook for 15 minutes and switch off the flame and keep aside to cool. Now for the dal tempering, heat oil in a pan, add cumin seeds crackle, garlic, ginger, chilly, curry leaves and all till light brown colour. Now add, cooked urad dal and cover with lid. After 2 minutes switch off the flame. Serve with rice, rotis.
