Paneer (cottage cheese) Lababdar easy recipe

Ingredients :

  • 300 gms. paneer cubes (cottage cheese)
  • 1 cup tomato puree 
  • 1/2 cup onion paste
  • 1 tbsp garlic-ginger paste 
  • 1 chopped onion 
  • 1 tbsp roasted  whole coriander seeds
  • 1 tsp roasted cumin seeds 
  • 1/2 tsp roasted black pepper corn 
  • 2 roasted whole dry kashmiri red chillies 
  • 1 stick cinnamon, 2  green cardamom, 1 star anise, 2 cloves all roasted 
  • 1 tsp turmeric powder 
  • 1/4 tsp nutmeg (jayaphala) powder
  • salt to taste 
  • 2 tbsp curd 
  • 2 tbsp oil or butter 
  • 1 tsp butter for paneer fry 
  • 1/2 tbsp cornflour dissolved in 1/2 bowl water 
Method :
Paneer lababdar 
Roasted all whole garam masala, chillies and seeds, make a powder in a blender and keep aside.
Heat butter in a pan, add paneer cubes and fry for 2-3 minutes and remove from the flame and keep aside. Now heat oil or butter in a pan, add chopped onion and saute for 2 minutes. Now add garlic-ginger paste saute for 1 minute and add onion paste and saute for 5 minutes. Now add tomato puree, salt, turmeric powder and cook for 5-8 minutes and add roasted garam masala, nutmeg powder, curd and cook on a medium flame for 1-2 minutes. Now add the cornflour mixture, mix well and add 1/2 bowl water and cook for 2-3 minutes and add fry cottage cheese (paneer) cubes and cook for 5 minutes and remove from the flame. Serve with pulav, rice, parantha, rotis and other dishes.
