Misal pav recipe

Misal pav is a Maharashtrian special recipe. Misal pav is a famous breakfast of people living in Maharashtra.
Misal pav 

Ingredients :

Moong (green gram) sprout 
  • 1 cup green gram (moong) or mataki sprout (boil)
  • 1 cup tomato puree or 2 chopped tomatoes 
  • 4 tbsp onion paste
  • 1 tbsp garlic-ginger paste
  • 1 chopped onion
  • 8-10 curry leaves
  • 1 tbsp coriander powder
  • 1/2 tsp turmeric powder
  • 1 tsp red chilli powder
  • 1/2 tsp garam masala or 1 tbsp misal pav masala 
  • 1 tsp sugar or jaggery 
  • salt to taste
  • 2 tbsp oil
  • 2 bowls water
For garnish,

  • 1 finely chopped onion
  • lemon slices
  •  farsaan ( Mixed Indian savory)
Method :

Heat oil in a pan, add onion, curry leaves and saute for 1 minute. Now add garlic-ginger paste, onion paste and after 1 minute, add in all spices, salt and mix well. Now add in tomato puree, sugar or jaggery and saute for 5 minutes. After 5 minutes, add boil sprout, water and cook for 5-7 minutes and switch off  the flame. Now transfer in a bowl or serving plate and garnish with chopped onion, lemon and farsaan (mixed savory). Serve with pav.
