Lauki aur alsi (Bottle gourd with flax seeds) ki sabzi

This is very healthy and tasty sabzi.
I hope all try this recipe. Flax seeds benefits, for weight loss and flax seeds have omega fatty 3-essential fatty acids.
This recipe is very easy and simple.

Ingredients :

  • 1 small nos lauki (bottle gourd)
  • 1/2 cup roasted flax seeds (bhuja hua alsi) powder
  • 1 tbsp roasted coriander powder
  • 1/4 tsp red chilli powder 
  • 1/4 tsp turmeric powder 
  • 2-3 tbsp tamarind pulp or 4-5 soak dried mango (sukha aam, ambul)
  • salt to taste 
  • 1 tbsp oil 
  • 1/2 tsp cumin seeds
  • 1/4 tsp fenugreek seeds
  • 2 bay leaves
  • 1/2 bowl water
Method :
Scrap the outer skin of the bottle gourd (lauki), wash and the cut it into finely cubes. Now heat oil in a pan, add fenugreek, cumin seeds, bay leaves and crackle, after that, add chopped bottle gourd, salt, turmeric powder and saute for 1 minute and cover with lid and cook on the medium flame. After 10 minutes open cover and check whether you lauki is soft, add coriander, red chilli, flax seeds powder, tamarind pulp and mix it well. After 1 minute, add water and cook for 5 minutes and switch off the flame. Serve with rice and rotis.
