Yam(Suran) ki chutney recipe

Ingredients :
Cooked suran chutney 

  • 250 gms. yam(suran) peeled and chopped 
  • salt to taste 
  • 1/2 tsp turmeric powder 
  • 2 chopped green chilly 
  • 2 tbsp lemon juice 
For tempering :

  • 1 tbsp oil
  • 1 tsp finely chopped ginger 
  • 1 tsp mustard seeds 
  • 2 pinch asafoetida (Hing) 
  • 10-12 curry leaves 
Method :
In a pressure cooker, add chopped yam and a glass of water and cover it with lid and boil for a whistle. After it is boiled, drain all water and mash it. Now heat oil in a pan, add mustard seeds, hing, ginger, curry leaves and crackle it and add boiled and mashed yam, salt, turmeric powder and mix well and take off the flame and add green chilly and lemon juice and mix well. Serve with Rice-dal and Rotis.
