Onion masala Rice recipe

Onion masala rice
Ingredients :

  • 2 cups Basmati rice
  • 8 cups water
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 tbs sugar
  • 2 tbsp deshi ghee
  • 1 tbsp cumin seeds
  • 1 chopped onion
  • 2 cinnamon sticks
  • 2 star anise 
  • 4 cloves (long)
  • 2 green cardamom 
  • 1 tsp red chilli powder
  • 1 tsp turmeric powder
  • 1/2 tsp green cardamom powder
Method :
Wash rice with water regularly for 2 times and keep aside for 30 minutes. Now take a large pan, add water and boil it now put  rice and stir it. After 10 minutes,add salt and sugar. Now check your rice is cooked or not. Now drain all water and keep the open pan aside. Heat ghee, add cumin, cinnamon, cloves, cardamom, star anise crackle and add chopped onion saute for 2 minutes, add  turmeric powder, red chilli powder and cardamom powder and just add on the cooked rice and stir. Serve with raita, shahi paneer, dal.
