Dal panchratna ki recipe

Ingredients :

Cooked Panchratna dal
  • 1/4 cup toovar dal
  • 1/4 Moong dal(split green gram)
  • 1/4 cup urad dal( split black lentils)
  • 1/4 cup masoor dal(split red lentils )
  • 1/4 cup chana dal( split bengal gram)
  • 4 bowls water 
  • 1 tsp turmeric powder
  • 1/4 tsp red chilly powder
  • salt to taste
  • 1 tsp sugar
  • 1 chopped onion
  • 1/2 cup tomato puree or 1 chopped tomato
  • 2 chopped green chilly
  • 1/2 tbsp ginger-garlic paste
  • 8-10 curry leaves
  • 1/2 tsp cumin seeds
  • 1/2 garam masala or sambhar masala
  • 3 tbsp deshi ghee
  • coriander leaves for garnishing
Method :  Wash all dal with water. In a pressure cooker, add all dals, turmeric powder, salt and cover it with lid and cook for 10- 15 minutes. Allow the steam to escape before opening the lid. Heat the ghee in a pan, add cumin seeds when the seeds crackle, add chopped onion, curry leaves and saute till. Now, add green chilly, garlic- ginger paste,tomato puree(chopped tomato),red chilly, garam masala powder mix well and saute for 5 minutes. Now, add the cooked dals,sugar and cook for 5 minutes and remove from the gas. garnish with coriander leaves and serve with Rotis and Rice.
