Jackfruit (kathal) sabzi recipe




Ingredients :
  • 500 gm. jackfruit, chopped and boiled 
  • 1 onion, chopped 
  • 1 onion paste 
  • 1/2 tsp ginger paste 
  • 1+1/2 tsp coriander powder
  • 1 tsp turmeric powder
  • salt to taste
  • 1/2 tsp red chilli powder
  • 1 tsp garam masala powder
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper powder 
  • 1/2 tsp cumin powder
  • 1/2 tsp cumin seeds
  • 2 bay leaves
  • 1 cinnamon stick
  • 1-star anise 
  • 2 cardamom 
  • 2 cloves
  • 3 tbsp oil
  • 1/2 bowl water
Method :

Heat oil in a pan, add cumin seeds, bay leaves, cinnamon stick, anise, cloves, cardamom and chopped onion. Fry until it is golden brown, add onion and ginger paste, stir for 2 minutes. Now add all spices masala and salt, cook for 5 minutes on medium flame. Add boiled jackfruit and mix well. Add water and cook for 5 minutes. Turn off the flame. Your sabzi is ready for serving. Serve it with Rice, rotis, puri, paratha, pua.
