Tikona (Triangle) pocket paratha recipe

Triangle pocket paratha 


  • 2 cup wheat flour
  • 1/2 tsp salt 
  • 1 tsp ghee
  • 1/2 tsp carom seeds(ajwain)
  • 1/2 tsp onion seeds ( kalonji)
  • water as needed 
  • ghee for shallow frying 

In a large bowl, add wheat flour, salt, carom seeds, onion seeds, 1 tsp ghee and mix well with hand. Now add enough water to make a dough. Now divide the dough into equal portion.
Now start the rolling into a circle and spread 1-2 drops ghee over the top. Now fold the paratha in half and spread 1-2 drops more ghee over the top and fold into triangles. Now roll the triangle into a paratha keeping its shape as a triangle. Now heat tawa and place the paratha. Now spread ghee on the paratha and shallow fry over medium heat. Now turn it and again pour ghee on the other side. Now cook on a low heat till they turn golden brown. Serve with curd, raita and any vegetables.
