Tasty toor dal (split toovar dal) fry recipe

Ingredients:
  • 1 cup split Toovar dal
  • 3 bowls water 
  • 1/2 tsp turmeric powder
  • 1/2 tsp sugar 
  • salt according to taste 
  • grated   coconut 
  • curry leaves 18-20
  • coriander leaves 
  • 1/2 tsp mustard seeds 
  • 1/2 tsp cumin seeds 
  • 1 pinch asafoetida (hing)
  • 2 green chilly
  • 1 tbs desi ghee 
  • 1 pinch garam masaala
  • Garnishing for 1 slice lemon, chopped coriander leaves and 1 tbs deshi ghee
Method :
Wash dal and in a pressure cooker, add dal, salt, turmeric powder, water and cover it with lid and cook for 8-10 minutes and remove from the gas and keep aside. Allow the steam to escape before opening the lid. Now heat oil in a pan, add cumin, mustard seeds, asafoetida, curry leaves, green chilly and crackle. Now add cooked dal, sugar, grated coconut, garam masala and boil it 1 minute and remove from the gas. Garnish with ghee, coriander leaves and lemon slice. Serve with Rice and Rotis.

    Toor dal ko paani se achhi tarah se dho kar cooker mei paani ,dal, salt , haldi (turmeric) daal kar cooker bund karke gas per 10 min ke liye pakne de . Ab gas off kar cooker ko thanda hone per khole .
    Ab pan ko garam karke 1tbs ghee daale fir rai ,jeera , hing ,crack hone par green chilly aur curry leaves daal de.Ab cooker ke dal ko kadhai mei daal kar usmei cococnt aur garam masaala chhidak kar gas off karden .
     Ab dal mei 1tbs ghee daalen aur coriander leaves se garnish karen aur fir lemon slice side mei rakhen .
